Callahan Senior Center Taxi Transportation Service: The primary purpose for the service is to provide round trip door-to-door service to individuals wishing to utilize the Town’s Senior Center that would not otherwise have access to Senior Center services. Elderly and Disabled Transportation Service: The service provided is threshold-to-threshold with assistance on and off the vehicle provided to clients by the drivers when necessary. |

For seniors who live alone and cannot prepare food for themselves, Meals on Wheels can be a godsend. Friendly volunteers deliver meals and often can provide some social stimulation in an otherwise lonely day. Recipients must be at least 60 years old. Services can be for a short period, such as recovery from surgery, or for an indefinite period. Meals are federally subsidized under the Older Americans Act. |
